“The Beach Performance Summits have been a big part of the annual preseason preparation for many U.S. elite beach athletes,” said Ali Wood Lamberson, USA Volleyball director of beach programs. “Now that we have this world class facility to combine with our great team of USOC sports performance professionals, we can provide the athletes with several great training blocks where they can get away from it all and focus on nothing but their training, with the ultimate goal of repeating our double-gold performance from 2008 in London.”

The coaches who attended were Jeff Conover, who works with Kessy and Ross, Dave Denitz, who works with Matt Fuerbringer (Costa Mesa, Calif.) and Nick Lucena,(Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Jeff Alzina, who coaches Jake Gibb (Bountiful, Utah) and Sean Rosenthal (Redondo Beach, Calif.).

The athletes and coaches attended presentations by various USOC staff members on planning, diet, sport psychology and periodization, heading into the season prior to the 2012 Olympic year
